On a calm, warm September day, we set out for an MTB adventure just below the stunning Piatra Craiului mountain.
Our journey began with a climb through the picturesque Măgura Village, leading us to Șaua Joaca. From this vantage point, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the rugged Piatra Craiului peaks. From Șaua Joaca, we descended to the Brusturet Cottage, where the landscape shifted, offering a mix of serene trails and dramatic scenery.
Our route then took us through the Dâmbovicioara Gorge, a narrow and impressive passage with towering rock walls on either side. The return leg brought us onto a scenic gravel road that led to Fundățica, a charming high-altitude village surrounded by rolling hills and vast open skies.
After soaking in the beauty of Fundățica, we made one final push back to Măgura, completing our loop and returning to Zărnești where it all began.
This ride was a perfect blend of challenging climbs, exhilarating descents, and awe-inspiring landscapes—a true MTB adventure worth every pedal stroke.
Very good fitness required. Advanced riding skills necessary. Some portions of the route may require you to push your bike.
