Brasov is surrounded by spectacular mountain villages, and some of them are pure biking heaven. Our top picks include Magura, Pestera, Zarnesti, Holbav, Moieciu, Fundata, Bran, and a variety of other charming destinations. All of these places treat you to breathtaking views. Each of these mountain villages offers a unique biking experience, with trails suited for all skill levels.

Magura - Fundatica

This is an epic ride that treats you to jaw-dropping views of the Piatra Craiului and Bucegi mountains while you meander through the charming villages nestled between them. This adventure is well-suited for gravel bikes. The route is carefully planned to offer cyclists a unique experience of the stunning Piatra Craiului and Bucegi mountains.

The journey kicks off in Zarnesti, leading you uphill to Magura Village. From there, you'll pass through Pestera, Sirnea, and Ciocanu before embarking on a descent through the spectacular Cheile Dambovicioarei gorge. The trek through Zarnesti begins with a climb to Magura Village, continuing through Pestera, Sirnea, and Ciocanu, culminating in a breathtaking descent through the Cheile Dambovicioarei gorge.

As you reach Podul Dambovicioarei, you'll find yourself on a lengthy forest road that eventually leads you to Fundatica/Fundata. Fundata Village is the highest village in Romania! From this lofty point, you'll enjoy a satisfying downhill cruise on smooth tarmac, returning to Zarnesti. Continuing on your journey, you'll pass through picturesque villages and stunning landscapes, immersing yourself in the beauty of the Romanian countryside.

While making your way back to Zarnesti, you'll have the chance to ride below the iconic Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula Castle. The historic Bran Castle, famously associated with Dracula, can be seen from below as you journey back to Zarnesti.

Fall in Full Bloom

This was a perfect gravel ride—truly good for the soul as fall showcased its full splendor. The high-altitude villages were breathtakingly beautiful, offering stunning views of Piatra Craiului on one side and Bucegi on the other.

Last Epic Gravel Ride of the Season

The season might be winding down, but we couldn’t resist squeezing in one final epic gravel adventure right in our own backyard! Starting from the historic old town of Brașov, our route took us through some of the most picturesque spots in Romania: Vulcan, Holbav, Poiana Mărului, Zărnești, Măgura, Moieciu, Simon, Poarta Branului/Sohodol, Glăjerie, Râșnov, and back to Brașov.

Epic to Azuga

This time, we embarked on another epic gravel ride, taking us from Săcele to Azuga via the scenic Valea Gârciniului. We began our journey in the old town, navigating through city streets to reach Săcele. The transition from smooth tarmac to gravel marked the true beginning of the adventure.

Majestic Piatra Craiului

On a calm, warm September day, we set out for an MTB adventure just below the stunning Piatra Craiului mountain. Our journey began with a climb through the picturesque Măgura Village, leading us to Șaua Joaca. From this vantage point, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the rugged Piatra Craiului peaks.
